MEANER THAN A JUNKYARD DOG...

I would never have a boy dog. Ever. Unless dressing your boy dog in PANTS was mandatory.

I like girl dogs. I've always had girl dogs and always will. Pepper, Gypsy Ming Rose, RoseBud Clementine (pictured here) and now Lily Bud.

I had QED on the other day and thought about this. Those Celtic boys were doing some really bad rendition of the Jim Croce song and it reminded me of when I was a little girl and I would go all out singing - I mean performing - that song. Usually on Saturday nights in my mother's negligee... but that's a whole different story.

Anyway, if I would ever have a boy dog (which again, I never would) I would have a hard time deciding between these two names.

SNUGGLE PUG
This is how I wake up every morning. Around 5 AM I get a tap on my shoulder which means I must lift up the blanket so Lily can come under and snuggle. She takes half of my pillow (at least), does a little sigh and proceeds to snore up a storm. Click HERE to listen.

AND MY HEAVEN IS A NICE HOUSE IN THE SKY...

I always said that if RoseBud went to a DMB concert she would wear this outfit... ;-)

Sweet like candy to my soul...

Sweet you rock and sweet you roll...

Lost for you I'm so lost for you...

Love the Bud. ♥

DOCTOR'S ORDERS
I had a doctor's appointment today. She told me I shouldn't lose any more weight. That's never happened before!?! ;-)

Anyway, I ended up having an impromptu lunch after my appointment and thought I'd try to put on a few pounds...

What did I think of when I downloaded this picture?
"I don't want to be a pie - I don't like gravy!"

CIRCLE OF LIFE

This is terrible so don't look at the picture if you don't want to.
I haven't seen our neighbor for a couple days - I wanted to tell her about the little chipmunk in her yard. I thought about getting rid of it myself but then I didn't just want to throw it away in the garbage and I wasn't sure what kind of casket I should put him in so I didn't do anything. I actually thought Carol must have found it because the past couple days it appeared to me to be gone. What I thought was just over turned mulch and dirt wasn't though. Looks like the little thing has been there all along.

I'm kind of upset about not giving him a proper burial now.

Lily jumped out of bed to go outside really early today - the sun was just coming up. We were walking and all the little animals were scurrying all around. I felt like Snow White with all the forest animals around me. The chipmunks scattered. There were bunnies everywhere - I think I saw five. The birds were just plopping down in front of us. Big blue ones and little red ones and these strange half red/half brown ones I've been seeing lately (must be the new labradoodle in the bird world.)

We came in and went back to bed for a little while and I kept thinking of the baby deer we saw on our little adventure last year and what he must have thought seeing all of us sitting in the car with flashing lights in front of our faces trying to take his picture and wondered if he was just as fascinated with us as we were of him...

ANNOYED

I came back to my Dad's house to pick Lily up to go home and she actually seemed a little annoyed at me for waking her up. At least she's comfortable there.

Ten On Tuesday (Unintentional mini food / cake theme)

1. A friend of mine from high school posted this little tidbit on Facebook... "Back to the Future Doc sets the clock in the DeLorean to 25 years into the future... yesterday was that day, July 5, 2010!!!"
{Edit - this looks like it's false - see how things go viral immediately - looks like there's a tweet retraction.} I don't know - not the biggest BTTF fan so 25-30 years... still a long time! ;-)

2. I will never bake, eat or buy red velvet cake anymore. I attempted to make cupcakes the other day and the color of the batter made me completely sick - then my new flower cupcake pan from Sur La Table turned them into nipple cakes. I have a picture but I'm slightly embarrassed to even post it.

3. I still haven't given Aunt Gloria her birthday presents for this year... (this photo is from 2008 - Friday night party prep for 80th bday - right after Rosebud died.)

4. My Dad told me that Jimmy Dean (the sausage guy) died the other day. I don't eat sausage but I do like those commercials.

5. I think I want to try to recreate those pig cakes from Naas...

6. She was so LITTLE!

7. I pretty much ate a whole thing of herbed Fromager d'Affinois.. Thanks Portia and Conan for getting me hooked on that. ;-) It wasn't the same without the wine crackers though. I should have quit while I was ahead. There goes my no dairy thing...

8. Do you think mini-doughnuts will have the same appeal as mini cupcakes?

9. Pickpocketing Pug

10. I came across this the other day... Should have sent it to Cake Wrecks. I guess the E is optional.
