CIRCLE OF LIFE

This is terrible so don't look at the picture if you don't want to.
I haven't seen our neighbor for a couple days - I wanted to tell her about the little chipmunk in her yard. I thought about getting rid of it myself but then I didn't just want to throw it away in the garbage and I wasn't sure what kind of casket I should put him in so I didn't do anything. I actually thought Carol must have found it because the past couple days it appeared to me to be gone. What I thought was just over turned mulch and dirt wasn't though. Looks like the little thing has been there all along.

I'm kind of upset about not giving him a proper burial now.

Lily jumped out of bed to go outside really early today - the sun was just coming up. We were walking and all the little animals were scurrying all around. I felt like Snow White with all the forest animals around me. The chipmunks scattered. There were bunnies everywhere - I think I saw five. The birds were just plopping down in front of us. Big blue ones and little red ones and these strange half red/half brown ones I've been seeing lately (must be the new labradoodle in the bird world.)

We came in and went back to bed for a little while and I kept thinking of the baby deer we saw on our little adventure last year and what he must have thought seeing all of us sitting in the car with flashing lights in front of our faces trying to take his picture and wondered if he was just as fascinated with us as we were of him...
